How to use it

  • Ask for drafts of the packing list and bill of lading before loading.
  • Check that party names and goods wording are identical across every document.
  • Keep the COA tied to the lot that was shipped.

What this list does not do

  • It does not say which documents your destination requires.
  • It does not replace your customs broker or quarantine office.

Questions buyers ask

How many documents does the copra checklist cover, and how many does Kora list?

The checklist names eight documents. Kora lists five of them: COA, phytosanitary certificate, certificate of origin, packing list and bill of lading. The other three, a commercial invoice, a fumigation record, and insurance with the export declaration, come from logistics sources.

Who issues the phytosanitary certificate and the bill of lading for copra?

The checklist names the Indonesian quarantine authority for the phytosanitary certificate and the carrier or forwarder for the bill of lading. The certificate of origin comes from an issuing body agreed per order, and the COA from the supplier or its test lab.

Does the checklist say which documents my destination requires?

No. It does not say what your destination requires and does not replace your customs broker or quarantine office. Run the shipment file against it before booking and again when drafts arrive, then confirm the requirements with your broker.
